The tourism department in Dakshina Kannada has invited the public to vote for their favorite tourist spots as part of the Union Ministry of Tourism’s Dekho Apna Desh, People’s Choice 2024 campaign. This initiative allows people to choose tourist attractions they believe should be developed by the Centre, helping to boost local tourism.
Various tourist destinations across Dakshina Kannada have been included in the campaign. Participants can select their top three tourist attractions in five categories: spiritual, cultural & heritage, nature & wildlife, adventure, and other attractions. It’s mandatory to choose at least one place they have visited and one they wish to visit in the future.
Additionally, participants are encouraged to suggest improvements for their chosen attractions. The winning spots will be prioritized for development under the Ministry of Tourism’s mission mode, contributing to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The last date for voting is September 15.
