Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mullai Muhilan, along with other officials, inspected the deteriorating condition of the highways at Nanthoor and KPT junction on Tuesday, July 16. The roads at these junctions have become dangerously dilapidated, with numerous potholes causing traffic congestion and posing risks to vehicles.
The persistent issue of potholes at Nanthoor and KPT junctions has not been addressed with a permanent solution by the concerned authorities. The stretch of road from Panambur to Surathkal is also plagued with dangerous potholes, leading to several recent accidents.
Speaking to the media, DC Mullai Muhilan stated, “Due to heavy rain, potholes have emerged at KPT and Nanthoor, causing traffic congestion. I have directed the NHAI officials and city corporation to install paver blocks at Nanthoor and implement a temporary solution to fill the potholes at KPT as well.”
The inspection by DC Muhilan highlights the urgency of addressing these hazardous road conditions. Immediate actions are being planned to provide temporary relief and improve road safety. However, the need for a long-term, permanent solution remains critical to prevent further deterioration and accidents.
The public and authorities alike hope that these temporary measures will provide some relief while a more sustainable solution is developed to tackle the persistent pothole problem in the region.
