Mangaluru: Several police personnel from Mangaluru and across Dakshina Kannada district have been selected for the prestigious Chief Minister’s Medal for the year 2025. The awards are scheduled to be presented at a formal ceremony in Bengaluru on April 2, recognising exemplary service and dedication in policing.

Among the prominent awardees is Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun K., whose leadership and service have been acknowledged at the state level. Also selected is Mangaluru City Traffic Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Najma Farooqi, who has been recognised for her contributions to traffic management and public service.

Recognition for service across departments

The list of awardees includes personnel from various units and ranks, reflecting the collective efforts of the district police force. Officers from the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), District Armed Reserve (DAR), and multiple police stations have been honoured.

Those selected include KSRP 7th Battalion ARSI K.M. Shivashekar, DAR ASI Tilakraj, and Head Constable Irshad P. from Bantwal Police Station. In addition, Head Constable Jayanand N. from Kankanady Town Police Station has been named among the recipients.

From the cyber crime division, Head Constables Mani M.N. and Satish have also been selected. Satish is currently posted at Bajpe Police Station following his recent promotion. Their work in handling cyber-related offences and investigations has contributed to their recognition.

Further, Head Constable Vijay Kumar Rai from Beltangady Rural Police Station and Woman Head Constable Lalitha Lakshmi from Urwa Police Station are also among those chosen for the honour.
