Mangaluru, November 22: A 70-year-old man in Balepuni village, Ullal taluk, Dakshina Kannada district, has been accused of inappropriate assaulting behavior toward a three-year-old girl. The incident came to light after the child’s mother lodged a police complaint.
Reports indicate that the child was playing near a local shop on Thursday when she informed her mother about the incident. Concerned for her child, the mother sought medical attention and reported the matter to the authorities.
The Konaje police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has been arrested and is currently in judicial custody as investigations are ongoing.
The case has raised awareness about safeguarding children and highlights the importance of community vigilance and strict enforcement of laws to ensure the safety of minors.
