In a tragic incident at Kadabettu in Kadeshwalya village, one person died, and four others were injured due to electrocution while setting up a pandal on private land on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Kundan Kumar Mandal, 18, from Bihar. The injured include Prasanna from Kadeshwalya, Pradeep from Jharkhand, and Rohith from West Bengal, who have all been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
The pandal was being erected for a cockfighting event. The accident occurred when an iron rod being installed came into contact with an overhead electric wire, leading to the fatal electrocution.
Bantwal Rural Police visited the scene to investigate the incident.
