MANGALURU: A vibrant district-level exhibition and sales fair showcasing products crafted by self-help groups (SHGs) lit up the Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat premises on Saturday. The event, a celebration of women’s entrepreneurship and rural enterprise, was organised by the district administration, zilla panchayat, Skill Development and Livelihoods Department, and the Sanjeevini – Karnataka State Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (NRLMS).

The fair was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada ZP Project Director K.E. Jayaraj, who urged women to capitalize on such platforms by securing food safety certifications and business registrations to scale up their ventures.

Mangaluru Assistant Commissioner Harshavardhan S.J. inaugurated the product stalls and extended support by purchasing from the SHGs. Taluk Panchayat EO Mahesh Holla lauded the fair as a true representation of grassroots empowerment through Sanjeevini Okkottas (federated SHGs).
