The Sullia police have rearrested Raghavan Kedishwaran, also known as Koli Karan, a suspect in a high-profile theft case who briefly escaped custody during a medical check-up. Raghavan, who had been avoiding court appearances and evading arrest for some time, was apprehended by police in Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu, following extensive search efforts.

The suspect was transported to a hospital in Sullia for a routine health assessment as part of the formal custody process. However, during the check-up, Raghavan managed to escape from the officers accompanying him, exploiting a momentary lapse in supervision. His escape triggered an immediate response from the Sullia police, who launched a coordinated search to track him down. Acting quickly, they were able to locate and rearrest him, bringing him back into custody within a short span.

This incident has raised discussions about the safety protocols during prisoner transport and medical evaluations, particularly for suspects known to be flight risks. Authorities are now reviewing the procedural lapses that enabled his escape and considering enhanced security measures to prevent similar incidents.
