Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan announced that two experts from the Geological Survey of India have assessed the landslide risk in Kethikal, Vamanjoor.
Speaking to reporters, the DC stated that he visited the site with the experts to gather their opinions. The experts identified a particularly dangerous spot in Kethikal, warning that a landslide could occur if the water gushing from the hilltop is not properly channeled. In response, the DC has instructed officials to take immediate measures to mitigate the risk.
Additionally, the DC reported that steps have been taken to relocate residents living near the Kethikal hills to ensure their safety.
The assessment and prompt action aim to prevent potential disaster and protect the community from harm.
