Mangaluru: A laborer involved in constructing a well ring was discovered dead during a break on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Thambi, was working in Kalanja village, Sullia.
According to a complaint filed by Biju from Kollam, Kerala, Thambi and his team—Arun, Manikantha, Thamburan alias Rajendran, and Shashi—had been excavating a well at the residence of Abubacker since February 8. Following their lunch break, the workers rested near the house. Around 2 PM, they attempted to wake Thambi, only to find him unresponsive, with no signs of movement.
He was rushed to Sullia government hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The cause of death remains unknown, and a case has been registered at Bellare police station for further investigation.
