Mangaluru: Father Muller Medical College has been awarded the prestigious QS I-GAUGE Platinum badge in the subject rating category for the second consecutive cycle. This recognition underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and quality education.

QS I-GAUGE rating system

QS I-GAUGE, an independent private sector initiative, evaluates Indian higher education institutions based on global standards. Developed in collaboration with UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the rating system considers data from institutions along with anonymous feedback from students, faculty, and alumni. Institutions receive ratings ranging from bronze to platinum, reflecting their academic quality and industry alignment.

Father Muller’s academic journey

Established in 1999 as part of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Father Muller Medical College has grown into a leading medical education institution. It is re-accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC and also holds accreditation from the International Accreditation Organisation (IAO). The college follows the motto “Heal and Comfort,” maintaining high educational standards.

The Platinum badge accreditation, valid until January 2027, highlights the institution’s continuous progress in maintaining quality. Dr Hareesh Gouda, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, led the institution’s efforts to meet the QS I-GAUGE criteria. He was supported by Rev. Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administrator of the college, and Dr Antony Sylvan Dsouza, Dean of FMMC, who acknowledged the faculty and students’ contributions.

Rev. Fr Ricard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, expressed his delight at the recognition. He attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of the institution’s management, faculty, students, staff, and even patients.
