Mangaluru, 7th January 2025: The Father Muller College of Physiotherapy (FMCOP) celebrated a significant milestone, marking 30 years of its undergraduate programme with a specialised academic discourse titled, “Navigating Pain in Individuals with Recalcitrant Tennis Elbow: Translating Evidence to Practice.” The event, held at the Decennial Memorial Hall, was a testament to the institution’s unwavering dedication to academic and healthcare excellence.
Academic discourse by global expert
The event featured Dr. Nagarajan Manickaraj, senior lecturer from the University of Tasmania, Australia, as the chief guest and resource person. He conducted engaging sessions, both before and after the inaugural ceremony, delving into evidence-based strategies for managing tennis elbow, a condition often encountered in physiotherapy.
The discourse emphasised practical applications of research, aligning with FMCOP’s ethos of bridging theory with practice in healthcare education.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by the FMCOP students, followed by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including:

Ms. Cyanna D’Souza, the organising secretary, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the gathering and setting an enthusiastic tone for the programme.
A symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony followed, signifying FMCOP’s continued commitment to enlightenment, knowledge-sharing, and holistic healthcare.

During the ceremony, Dr. Nagarajan Manickaraj praised the leadership and vision of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI). Drawing from his personal experiences at FMCI, he emphasised the philosophy of “giving as you receive” and encouraged students to share their knowledge for societal benefit.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho extended New Year wishes and reflected on FMCOP’s pivotal role in rehabilitation and holistic health. He noted, “Physiotherapy not only addresses injuries but restores independence and overall well-being,” commending the college for its consistent achievements over three decades.
