Vinod Kumar, the father of a Hindu girl allegedly abducted in a ‘love jihad’ case, made an emotional plea for her rescue during a press interaction on Thursday. The distraught father claimed that his daughter was taken by a notorious criminal named Muhammad Ashfaq and urged authorities for urgent intervention.
Emotional Appeal for Help
Tearfully recounting his ordeal, Vinod Kumar appealed to community leaders and law enforcement for assistance. “I urge the community leaders and the police to rescue my daughter from Ashfaq,” he implored. Vinod Kumar disclosed that he discovered his daughter’s relationship with Ashfaq on June 6. To protect her, he sent her to a relative’s home in Ullal, but Ashfaq allegedly tracked her down and abducted her on June 30. Despite numerous efforts, Vinod Kumar has been unable to retrieve his daughter.
Vinod Kumar’s daughter, a BCA student at Srinivas College in Pandeshwar, had to discontinue her education due to financial difficulties after her second year. She subsequently worked in Kasaragod for two months, during which she likely met Muhammad Ashfaq, according to Vinod Kumar. Ashfaq allegedly informed Vinod Kumar’s son that he had eloped with the girl. Local reports indicate that Ashfaq has been married twice and faces over sixteen criminal charges.

Call for Action
Vinod Kumar has called on the Karnataka government and Mangalore police to intervene and ensure his daughter’s safe return. He demanded strict action against Ashfaq to bring justice to his family.
This distressing case highlights the urgent need for effective measures to address such incidents and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
