A fishing boat that departed from Gangolli fishing port capsized in the Arabian Sea after being struck by strong waves, officials confirmed.
According to local authorities, the vessel had ventured into deeper waters when it encountered rough sea conditions. The forceful waves destabilized the boat, causing it to overturn without warning.
Several crew members managed to swim to safety and reached the shore with the help of nearby fishermen and rescue teams. However, three fishermen are still unaccounted for, prompting an extensive search operation.
Coastal police units, along with personnel from the fisheries department and local volunteers, have deployed boats and equipment to trace the missing men.
Officials said the rough sea conditions are making the search more challenging, but all efforts are underway to locate and rescue the missing crew members as quickly as possible.
