Mangaluru: Four ultra-modern convention halls at prominent locations across the city will be inaugurated simultaneously on May 23, marking what organisers describe as a first-of-its-kind development in the coastal region. Former minister and president of Vikas Education Trust Krishna J. Palemar announced the initiative and said the project has been undertaken to commemorate the successful 45-year journey of Land Links Group.
Addressing a press conference, Palemar described the initiative as a special contribution dedicated to people of the coastal belt and said the project reflects the company’s long-standing association with the region.
Initiative marks 45 years of Land Links Group
Palemar said Land Links Group has built a reputation over the years through its business ventures and development projects across coastal Karnataka.
According to him, the company has earned the trust of lakhs of people during its four-and-a-half decades of operations and has undertaken the project as a landmark initiative to mark the occasion.
He stated that the four convention halls have been designed with modern infrastructure and advanced amenities to cater to various events and social functions.
The facilities are expected to serve the needs of people in the region by providing large and well-equipped venues for community, cultural and social activities.
Grand inauguration planned on May 23
The inaugural programme for the convention halls is scheduled to be held in a grand manner on May 23, with organisers planning multiple events as part of the celebrations.
Palemar said the inaugural programme will commence at 10 am at the Palemar Convention Centre situated at Maryhill in the city.
The event is expected to draw participation from political representatives, community leaders and dignitaries from different sectors.
According to organisers, the simultaneous inauguration of four convention centres is expected to hold both cultural and historical significance for the region.
Governor to attend as chief guest
Palemar announced that S. Abdul Nazeer will officially inaugurate the project as the chief guest during the event.
Several political leaders and elected representatives are also expected to participate in the programme.
Among those expected to attend are Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U. T. Khader and Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta.
MLAs Y. Bharat Shetty, D. Vedavyas Kamath and Umanath Kotian are also expected to attend the programme.
Additionally, MLC Ivan D’Souza and several political, social and religious leaders from the coastal region and other parts of the state are expected to be present.
Project expected to add event infrastructure
The addition of four new convention halls is expected to strengthen infrastructure available for large gatherings and events in the region.
Such facilities are increasingly being used for cultural programmes, social gatherings, weddings, conferences and public events, particularly in rapidly developing urban centres.
Organisers said the project aims to provide modern facilities while contributing to the region’s social and infrastructural development.
