Haleyangadi: Four students sustained minor injuries after a tipper lorry rammed into a service bus from behind near the Indira Nagar bus stop on Wednesday. The accident caused panic among passengers travelling in the bus, while local residents rushed to the spot and assisted in shifting the injured students for medical treatment.

Accident occurred near bus stop

According to available information, the service bus was travelling from Kinnigoli towards Mangaluru when the incident took place.

The accident reportedly occurred while the bus had stopped at the Indira Nagar bus stand to pick up passengers. A speeding tipper lorry approaching from behind allegedly crashed into the rear portion of the stationary bus.

The impact of the collision damaged the rear side of the vehicle and created panic among passengers inside the bus.

Four students sustain injuries

As a result of the accident, four students travelling in the bus sustained minor injuries.

People in the surrounding area immediately rushed to assist passengers and provide help to the injured students. Local residents played a key role in facilitating rescue efforts and ensuring immediate medical attention.

The injured students were shifted to a private hospital in Mukka for treatment with the help of residents and others present at the spot.
