Mangalore: Father Muller Medical College, in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, successfully organized a HELINET training session today at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Knowledge Centre.
More than 200 delegates from health science institutions across the Mangalore region participated in the intensive one-day training session aimed at enhancing the skills of librarians and faculty members.
The session commenced with a prayer song, followed by dignitaries such as Sri Amarnath B.R., Assistant Registrar RGUHS, and Sri Keshava Reddy H., Section Officer RGUHS, being welcomed to the dais by Dr. John J.S. Martis, Professor of General Surgery and Chairperson of the Central Library Committee. The event was graced by esteemed personalities including Rev. Father Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Rev. Father Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College, Dr. Antony Sylvan Dsouza, Dean of Father Muller Medical College, Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo, Chief Librarian and Secretary of the Central Library Committee, and others.
Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo provided an overview of the HELINET consortium and extended a warm welcome to all attendees. The formal inauguration included the lighting of the lamp, an address by Sri Amarnath, and a presidential address by the Director.
Throughout the day, presentations were delivered by representatives from Informatics, Mc Graw Hill, Pro-Quest, Up To Date, Elsevier, EBSCO, and Jaypee publishers, covering a range of topics relevant to the attendees.
The training concluded at 5pm with enthusiastic participation from delegates who actively engaged with the content throughout the day.
The event concluded with a group photo session and a tea break, fostering networking and collaboration among attendees.
