Mangaluru: Air connectivity between Mangaluru and Mumbai is set to improve significantly with the launch of a new daily direct service by IndiGo, connecting Mangaluru International Airport (IXE) to the newly operational Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) from 25 December 2025. The addition strengthens the route with a total of five daily services—four by IndiGo and one by Air India Express.

New route strengthens coastal–financial capital linkages
The new IndiGo service enhances convenience for passengers travelling for business, education, healthcare and leisure. It also provides a seamless alternative to the existing Mumbai–Mangaluru operations, offering more flexibility in scheduling.

Expanding Mangaluru’s domestic network
With the addition of Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru International Airport now connects to seven domestic destinations—Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram and Navi Mumbai. IXE, Karnataka’s second busiest airport, currently handles more than 55 daily air traffic movements and carried 2.32 million passengers in FY 2024–25.
