Surathkal: NITK Surathkal, in collaboration with the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), hosted a dynamic 2-day INSPIRE MANAK Mentoring Workshop at the Digital Library Centre on 9th and 10th June 2024. This initiative, aligned with the Government of India’s vision, aims to ignite creativity and nurture innovative ideas among high school students from classes 6 to 11.
INSPIRE MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) is a flagship program fostering innovation nationwide. This was the third consecutive year NITK proudly organized this workshop. Around 40 talented students were chosen to participate, representing the best and brightest minds. These students will showcase their ideas at the national level in New Delhi.
Smt. Vani R K, Assistant Director at DSERT Bangalore, was the Chief Guest of the event, and the Guest of Honor was Dr. Viral, Senior Project Associate at NIF. Director in-charge and Dean R&C, Prof. Uday Bhat, presided over the event.
NITK’s esteemed faculty members, experts in fields like mechanical engineering, agriculture, sensors, and systems, actively engaged with students. Their guidance helped transform innovative concepts into tangible prototypes. The event witnessed active participation from Program Coordinators: Prof. Arun M Isloor from NITK, Dr. Mahima K, Program Coordinator from NIF, Dean Student Welfare Prof. A C Hegde, NITK faculty, and staff. Over 100 participants, including parents and teachers, contributed to the event’s success.
