Kadaba: Kadaba police have registered two counter cases following an alleged assault arising out of a dispute related to a woman’s marriage. Both complaints have been booked under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is underway.
According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of July 10 near the College Road junction in Kadaba. The dispute has resulted in separate complaints from both sides, with each accusing the other of assault and criminal intimidation.
Complaint by Monish
According to the complaint lodged by Monish (21), a resident of Kadaba, he was returning home after work when he was allegedly intercepted near the College Road junction by Sharath, Deepak and Vishwanath.
Monish alleged that the trio verbally abused him, assaulted him and issued death threats over a dispute concerning a woman’s marriage.
Based on his complaint, Kadaba police registered Crime No. 84/2026 under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation into the allegations.
Counter complaint filed
During the course of the investigation, Deepak (33), a resident of Kutrupadi, approached the police with a counter complaint.
In his complaint, Deepak alleged that Monish had wrongfully restrained him, assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences.
Acting on the complaint, Kadaba police registered Crime No. 85/2026 under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Investigation underway
Police said both cases are being investigated simultaneously to ascertain the sequence of events and determine the facts surrounding the incident.
Officials stated that statements from the complainants, witnesses and other relevant persons will be recorded as part of the investigation. Any further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
The police have urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation is in progress.
