The Karnataka State Private Bus Owners’ Association has announced that its members will continue bus services as usual across all districts during the state-wide bandh. Association President, Kuilady Suresh Nayak, emphasized that while they morally support the cause behind the bandh, they have decided not to halt services to prevent public inconvenience, particularly for students who are preparing for exams.

Speaking to the media, Nayak explained, “There are 6,000 private buses operating in 17 districts, including Udupi, Mangaluru, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Madikeri, Mandya, Tumakuru, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar. Despite challenges, we have always kept our services running, even during difficult times.”

Nayak also expressed solidarity with the Kannada cause, stressing that public service should always take precedence over profit. “Buses are not just a business; they are a vital service to the community,” he stated, reaffirming their steadfast support for Kannada and the state of Karnataka.

In addition, the association condemned recent violence against a bus conductor, stating that such acts of aggression are unacceptable. “While we support the bandh in principle, we believe in non-disruption of public life,” Nayak concluded, reinforcing the association’s commitment to both public service and peace.
