Mangaluru: KIOCL Limited, formerly known as Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited, marked its 50th Company Day with a series of celebratory events at its Pellet Plant Unit in Panambur and KIOCL Township in Kavoor. The Golden Jubilee celebrations commemorated the company’s journey since its inception on 2 April 1976.
Day begins with ceremonial pooja and balloon release
The day began with a ceremonial pooja at the shrine within the plant premises, followed by the release of 50 balloons by Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Sri G.V. Kiran, accompanied by company officers and representatives from various unions and associations. A formal lamp lighting ceremony inaugurated the Foundation Day events.
To celebrate the occasion, a special lunch was organised for all employees and contract workers in the afternoon.
Evening celebrations at Kavoor Township
The grand Golden Jubilee celebration took place in the evening at Sampath Iyengar Ranga Mandir, KIOCL Township, Kavoor. The event was officially inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the unveiling of the Golden Jubilee logo by CMD Sri G.V. Kiran.
Honouring employee service and sports winners
The celebration honoured the employees who have completed 15 years of service and recognised 26 senior-most employees for their contributions. Prizes and trophies were distributed to winners of various sports competitions held in connection with the 50th Company Day.
In his presidential address, CMD Sri G.V. Kiran acknowledged the commitment of employees and highlighted the organisation’s journey over five decades.
Presence of senior officials and cultural festivities
Several senior officials graced the occasion, including Shri P. Palani (Chief General Manager I/c, Mangaluru), Shri Chikkanna Munikrishna (Chief General Manager, HR), and Sri U. Manohar (General Manager, Services), who joined the CMD on the dais.
The celebrations concluded with a vibrant cultural programme featuring captivating performances by artists from Arehole Prathishtana, which left employees, officials and their families thoroughly entertained.
