The Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) held the audition round for its 60th children’s singing competition on Sunday, July 21, at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru. The event, starting at 2 pm, began with the KNS anthem and a welcome address by Floyd D’Mello, KNS General Secretary.
The competition was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by notable figures including Raymond D’Cunha, editor-in-chief of Pingara.com; Stany Bela, production director of Daijiworld 24×7; and other KNS officials and judges Shilpa Cutinha and Ralph Roshan Bela. KNS President Dr. Rocky D’Cunha delivered an inspiring speech and introduced “KNS Productions,” a YouTube channel for KNS activities, and highlighted the upcoming cinematic play ‘Christachem Janan’ set to release on September 9.
A total of 129 participants aged 5 to 15 showcased their talents in solo, duet, and group categories. The event received support from KNS manager Boniface Pinto, former vice-president Sunil Menezes, and other KNS committee members.
Renowned musicians Ralph Roshan Crasta and Shilpa Cutinha judged the competition. Loy Rego hosted the event and concluded with a vote of thanks.
Qualified participants will compete in the second round on August 25 at Don Bosco Hall.
