Mangaluru: Train services on the Konkan Railway route will be affected on several dates in October due to scheduled track maintenance works, with partial cancellations, changes in originating stations, rescheduling and regulation of trains.

According to railway authorities, passengers travelling on the affected dates should take note of the revised schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.

Mangaluru–Madgaon Passenger partially cancelled

Train No. 56616 Mangaluru Central–Madgaon Junction Passenger, scheduled to depart from Mangaluru Central on October 1, 8 and 15, will be short-terminated at Karwar.

As a result, the service between Karwar and Madgaon Junction will remain cancelled on these three dates.

Passengers travelling towards Madgaon on these dates will therefore have to make alternative arrangements for the Karwar–Madgaon section.

Madgaon–Mangaluru Passenger to originate from Karwar

Train No. 56615 Madgaon Junction–Mangaluru Central Passenger will also undergo changes on October 1, 8 and 15.

The train, which is normally scheduled to depart from Madgaon Junction at 2.15 pm, will instead originate from Karwar at 3.24 pm on these dates.

The service between Madgaon Junction and Karwar will remain cancelled on October 1, 8 and 15.

Passengers boarding the train from stations between Madgaon and Karwar are advised to take note of the cancellation and revised originating station.

Madgaon–Mangaluru Passenger rescheduled

Train No. 56615 Madgaon Junction–Mangaluru Central Passenger will also be rescheduled on several other dates in October.

The revised timings are as follows:

  • October 2, 4, 9, 11, 16 and 18: The train will depart from Madgaon at 3.45 pm instead of 2.15 pm, resulting in a delay of 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • October 6, 13 and 20: The train will depart from Madgaon at 4.55 pm instead of 2.15 pm, resulting in a delay of 2 hours 40 minutes.

Passengers travelling on these dates should accordingly adjust their travel plans based on the revised departure timings.

Ernakulam–Pune Superfast Express regulated

Train No. 22149 Ernakulam Junction–Pune Junction Bi-Weekly Superfast Express will also be affected by the maintenance work.

The train commencing its journey on October 2, 9 and 14 will be regulated en route for 2 hours 20 minutes.

The regulation is expected to affect the train’s running schedule, and passengers are advised to check the latest operational information before travelling.

The changes have been announced in connection with track maintenance works on the Konkan Railway route.

As the maintenance schedule involves different forms of operational changes, including cancellations, revised originating stations, rescheduling and en-route regulation, passengers are advised to verify the latest train timings before commencing their journey.

Railway passengers travelling between Mangaluru, Karwar, Madgaon and other destinations along the affected routes should particularly check whether their train is operating as scheduled on the date of travel.
