In a significant move against local drug trafficking, the Kundapur rural police have arrested a couple in Udayanagar, Gulvadi village, for allegedly storing and selling ganja (marijuana) from their residence. The accused, identified as Nazrulla Khan (40) and Fatima (33), were detained after a police intelligence operation exposed their involvement in this illicit trade.
During the raid, authorities seized 8 kilograms and 374 grams of ganja from the home, with an estimated street value of ₹6.43 lakh. Inspector Bhimashankar Sannur, who spearheaded the operation, emphasized that this crackdown is part of a larger initiative by law enforcement to combat drug-related activities and minimize substance abuse in the region.
The couple’s alleged distribution of ganja from their home has raised serious concerns among local authorities and residents, who fear the potential impact of such activities on community safety. Following the arrest, a formal case was registered at the Kundapur rural police station, and officials are now working to trace any possible links between the couple and larger drug networks.
