In preparation for the elections for the southwest graduates constituency and southwest teachers constituency 2024, Mullai Mugilan M P, the deputy commissioner, has declared liquor-free days across the Dakshina Kannada district. The ban on the sale of liquor will be in effect from 4 pm on June 1 until midnight on June 3.
“The ban on the sale of liquor has been imposed to ensure the holding of fair and free elections in a peaceful environment and to enable the maintenance of law and order. All liquor sales outlets, liquor depots, liquor manufacturing distilleries, star hotels, and toddy shops will remain closed during this period,” states an order from the DC.
