A heartwarming hair donation drive was successfully organized on March 30 at the Church Hall by the Commission for Women, Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan of St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga, Mercy Beauty Academy & Ladies Salon, and Fly High Charitable Trust.

This inclusive event welcomed participants from all walks of life, united by their compassion. The drive aimed to collect hair donations for creating wigs for cancer patients, offering them dignity and confidence.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer song by Mother Mary Sthree Sangatan members. Dignitaries, including Fr Paul Pinto, Sandeep Misquith, Mercy Veena D’Souza, Usha Fernandes, and Reshma Pereira, graced the occasion. Fr Pinto expressed deep appreciation for donors and emphasized that acts of giving bring profound meaning to life.

Usha Fernandes extended heartfelt gratitude to all contributors, highlighting the powerful impact of their generosity. The event saw immense support from skilled hairdressers, volunteers, and parishioners.

Social media volunteers played a key role in spreading awareness, ensuring widespread participation. With an overwhelming response, 80 donors aged 7 to 70 stepped forward. Each received a certificate of appreciation and a refreshing Bonda Milk Shake as a token of gratitude.

The initiative exemplified how small acts of kindness can bring hope, proving that true beauty lies in giving.
