In a remarkable turn of events, five passengers narrowly escaped tragedy when their car was crushed by a falling container truck on NH 75 at Barchinahalla on Shiradi Ghat.

The accident, which occurred around 11:30 am on Saturday, involved a container truck that toppled onto the car, which was parked by the roadside. The vehicle, carrying Ganesha, Shivu, Kavya, Dandyamma, and driver Abdul Rahiman Mulla from Davanagere, was completely mangled by the impact. However, all five passengers were outside the car at the time, having exited due to a sudden bout of nausea experienced by Kavya.

The group had been visiting Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya temple over the weekend and was on their way back to Davanagere when the incident occurred. Kavya’s unexpected need to vomit led them to leave the car, while the driver had stepped away briefly. This unforeseen pause in their journey proved to be a life-saving decision, as the massive truck fell onto their parked vehicle just as they were away from it.

Remarkably, despite the severe damage to the car, all five individuals emerged unscathed. The incident underscores the fragility of life and the fortuitous nature of their narrow escape.
