Mangaluru: Malabar Gold & Diamonds marked International Women’s Day with a heartfelt celebration at its Mangaluru showroom, honouring women who have made meaningful contributions to society through their dedication and achievements.
The event recognised inspirational women from different walks of life and highlighted their commitment, resilience, and service to the community. The celebration was attended by distinguished guests including Mrs Nayana Fernandes, President of Mangalore Ladies Club, and Mrs Olive Pereira, Vice President of Mangalore Ladies Club, who graced the occasion and participated in the felicitation ceremony.

Women achievers honoured
As part of the International Women’s Day celebration, the dignitaries felicitated three women achievers for their remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
Ms Sabitha Monis, Student Welfare Officer at Alva’s College, Moodbidri, was honoured for her dedication towards student welfare and her commitment to supporting young learners in their academic and personal development.
Ms Sahala, a special child and gold medallist at the Special Olympics – Bharath Unifest National Championship, was recognised for her inspiring achievements in sports and her determination to overcome challenges.
Mrs Girija, a civic worker with the Mangaluru City Corporation, was also felicitated for her valuable service to the community and her role in maintaining civic cleanliness and public health.
The felicitation highlighted the diverse ways in which women contribute to society, from education and public service to sports and community engagement.
Celebrating inspiring journeys
The programme celebrated the inspiring journeys of the awardees and acknowledged their perseverance and commitment in their respective fields. The dignitaries appreciated their efforts and encouraged women to continue striving for excellence and leadership in society.
The event also reflected the importance of recognising everyday heroes who contribute to the betterment of society through dedication and service.
Present at the event were Mr Hafeez Rehman, Store Head; Mr Nazar Ahmmed P.P, Assistant Store Head; Mr Raghuram C.S, Branch Manager; Mr Sheik Farhan, Marketing Manager; and Mr Sameer, Deputy Sales Manager, along with management members and staff of the showroom.
Their presence added significance to the celebration and demonstrated the organisation’s support for initiatives promoting women empowerment.
