Mangaluru: The City police have arrested a man named Altaf for circulating a provocative message on WhatsApp. City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Soji Altaf Ullal. The message, which was shared in various WhatsApp groups, contained inflammatory content that has raised significant concerns among the authorities.
According to the police, the voice message from Soji Altaf Ullal included a statement suggesting harm towards specific community leaders. The message allegedly said, “When innocent people get killed some Gurus will come and visit and issue statements. Instead of killing innocents, some Gurus and some leaders should be killed.” This statement has been deemed highly provocative and potentially inciting violence.
Commissioner Agrawal emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that such messages can create unrest and disrupt communal harmony. The police are taking stringent measures to track and act against individuals who circulate such dangerous content. The arrest serves as a warning to others about the consequences of spreading provocative and inflammatory messages through social media platforms.
