Mangaluru: A man was detained by police after he allegedly attempted to attack a family with a sword on the night of Friday, April 24, in an incident linked to personal and marital issues. The accused, identified as Naveen, is a resident of Vamanjoor and had reportedly been living separately following a divorce a few months ago.
According to initial reports, Naveen’s wife had moved to Jokatte after the separation, and he had been facing emotional distress in the aftermath of the marital breakdown. Authorities believe that this distress may have contributed to the events that unfolded on Friday night.
Alleged attack and emergency response
Police sources stated that Naveen arrived near the residence of Devi Prasad, a resident of Kalavar, carrying a sword. He allegedly attempted to assault Devi Prasad and his parents.
