In a tragic incident at Maderi in Nelyadi, a 34-year-old man named Sharath Kumar was killed after being allegedly assaulted by his cousin with a wooden stick. The accused, Hariprasad, son of Janardhan Gowda, reportedly attacked Sharath following a heated argument on May 8.
According to a police complaint filed by Charan Kumar (37), the elder brother of the deceased, there had been ongoing quarrels between Sharath and Hariprasad’s family over petty issues. On the night of the incident, Sharath visited his uncle’s house and began shouting in the courtyard. Hariprasad, who had gone to the plantation, returned and allegedly struck Sharath on the head, causing him to collapse. The accused then hit him again, fatally injuring him.
A case has been registered, and police are investigating the matter.
