Driving sustainable waste management across the coast
Operating across locations such as Karkala, Bantwal, Yedapadav, and Puttur, the company has been at the forefront of building Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs). These MRFs play a vital role in sorting and diverting waste from landfills, significantly boosting recycling and resource recovery in the region.
In addition to its MRF operations, the company has launched a Zero Waste Campus Program, collaborating with institutions like:
-
Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple
Nitte University, Deralakatte
Infosys Mudipu Campus
These initiatives reflect the company’s mission to promote responsible waste disposal and minimise landfill dependency.
Environmental impact validated by study
To assess its real-world impact, Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd joined hands with Greener Sustainability Accelerator and J-PAL to conduct an Environmental Impact Study for 2023–24. The results revealed a noteworthy accomplishment — the company had mitigated -20,58,256 kg of CO₂-equivalent emissions, officially making it carbon-negative.
Key contributors to this milestone include:

Future-focused on circular economy
The company’s roadmap for sustainability includes:
-
Expanding the Zero Waste Programme to more campuses and communities
Adopting advanced composting techniques
Increasing partnerships with local bodies and educational institutions to create environmental awareness
Speaking on the company’s mission, Dilraj Alva, Managing Director of Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd, emphasised the importance of changing public perception about waste. “We believe in transforming waste into a resource, and our efforts are a small but determined step toward a cleaner, greener tomorrow,” he stated.
A role model for environmental responsibility
As India grapples with mounting waste management challenges, Mangala Resource Management Pvt Ltd stands out as a beacon of innovation and environmental leadership. Its achievement of carbon-negative status sets a new benchmark not just for Karnataka, but for waste management companies across India.
