Mangaluru: Social activist Robert Rosario has raised several critical questions and allegations regarding the recent arrest of MCC Bank Chairman Anil Lobo. Addressing a press conference, Rosario highlighted concerns about Lobo’s medical treatment and other alleged irregularities.

Rosario questioned why Anil Lobo, despite being remanded to judicial custody, continues to be treated in a hospital. “Why is the accused kept in the hospital even though the court has ordered jail? What is the illness so serious that he is accommodated in a hospital? A health bulletin on his condition and illness should be released,” he demanded.

The activist also pointed to discrepancies in the documents submitted to the court. He alleged that Lobo used a blank cheque obtained from the deceased Manohar Pereira to withdraw funds fraudulently. “How did Lobo withdraw money through a self-cheque without Pereira being present? Moreover, the money he withdrew was meant for charity,” Rosario added.

Calling for a comprehensive investigation, Rosario alleged widespread irregularities involving Anil Lobo and MCC Bank. He accused cooperative department officials of colluding with Lobo and demanded a detailed inquiry into their actions.

The arrest of Anil Lobo has sparked widespread public interest, particularly following the death of Manohar Pereira, who had accused Lobo of financial misappropriation in a video recorded before his tragic suicide. Pereira’s allegations have brought additional scrutiny to the management of MCC Bank and its Chairman.

Rosario’s call for transparency and accountability reflects growing public demands for justice and a thorough investigation into the allegations surrounding MCC Bank and its leadership.
