Mangaluru: The BV Kakkilaya Inspired Oration 2025 will be held today at 10 am at Ravindra Kala Bhavana, University College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. The event is being organised by Hosatu monthly magazine, MS Krishnan Trust (Bengaluru), and Samadarshi Vedike (Mangaluru).
Former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Govind Mathur, will deliver the oration on the theme “Balancing Constitutional and Social Morality in Indian Context.”
About BV Kakkilaya
Bevinje Vishnu Kakkilaya (1919–2012) was a noted freedom fighter, leader of the Karnataka unification movement, secretary of the CPI Karnataka unit, and a member of both the first Rajya Sabha and the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
He was also a respected writer and thinker, recognised for his sharp intellect, progressive ideals, and commitment to building a secular, casteless, socialist society based on equality.
Organisers said the annual oration seeks to keep alive his vision of a just and inclusive society.
