Mangaluru: A tragic incident was reported from Attavar on Friday, where a student allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 12th floor of an apartment building.
The deceased has been identified as Sarthak, a student of Kasturba Medical College (KMC).
Incident at Kasa Grand apartment
According to initial reports, the incident occurred at the Kasa Grand apartment complex in Attavar. Sarthak had reportedly visited the building to meet a friend. After signing the visitor’s register at the security desk, he proceeded to the 12th floor.
Police sources said that he placed his mobile phone on the floor before jumping from the building.
Investigation underway
Personnel from Pandeshwar Police Station reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Authorities are expected to record statements and examine available evidence, including CCTV footage, as part of the probe.
