Mangaluru: Farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, agricultural experts and the public will come together in Mangaluru for the three-day Karnataka State-Level Krishi Habba – Agriculture Festival 2026, scheduled from October 2 to 4 at Cordel Grounds and Hall, Kulshekar.
Organised by the Kisan Seva Foundation in cooperation with the Karnataka Agriculture and Horticulture Departments and supported by various agricultural institutions and organisations, the festival will focus on modern farming practices, agricultural technology, entrepreneurship and direct marketing opportunities for farmers.
The event will remain open to the public from 9.30 am to 8.30 pm on all three days.
Farmers and agri-entrepreneurs to share common platform
The organisers said Krishi Habba 2026 is intended to bring different stakeholders in the agriculture sector together on a common platform.
Speaking at a press meet in Mangaluru on September 29, Krishi Habba convener and organiser Ashwin Siqueira said the festival would bring farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, agricultural experts, technology providers, nurseries, food entrepreneurs, self-help groups, farmer producer organisations and the general public together.
The event will provide farmers and entrepreneurs with opportunities to showcase their products and directly connect with consumers.
The organisers also intend to encourage young people to explore agriculture not only as a profession but also as a business and entrepreneurial opportunity.
Agricultural machinery, millet and nursery exhibitions
A major attraction will be the Krishi Yantra Mela, showcasing agricultural machinery and equipment.
The festival will also feature a Siri Dhanya Mela focusing on millets, along with plant and nursery exhibitions, a Jenu Mela on beekeeping, a farmers’ market and an organic farming section.
Other sections will include an agri-business and MSME exhibition, food fair, and fisheries and aquaculture section.
The organisers said these exhibitions are intended to create awareness about modern agricultural techniques, machinery, organic farming, value-added products and crops suitable for the region.
Technical sessions across three days
Krishi Habba will also include technical sessions and interactive programmes involving government departments, agricultural institutions and experts.
The sessions will cover subjects including prosperous agricultural practices, mixed farming in arecanut cultivation, drip irrigation, home gardening, watershed management, value-added fish products and entrepreneurship, and beekeeping.
On October 2, stalls will be inaugurated at 11 am. A technical session titled ‘Busy Life, Healthy Food’ will be held from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
The formal inauguration will take place at 5.30 pm, with Karnataka Health Minister and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister U T Khader and Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath among the dignitaries expected to attend.
Sessions planned on October 3
The second day will feature multiple technical sessions beginning at 10.30 am.
Dr Honnappa Gowda, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Dakshina Kannada, and his team will conduct a session on ‘Prosperous Agriculture Practices’.
Progressive farmer Chandrashekhar Bhat of Panja, Uppinangady, will speak on ‘Mixed Farming in Arecanut Cultivation’, while Abhijith of Kisan Agro Tools, Puttur, will conduct a session on ‘Drip Irrigation Management in Agriculture’.
A session titled ‘Home Garden Revolution’ will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm, led by Anamika Bhat of Savayava Krishika Balaga, Mangaluru.
The sessions are expected to give participants practical information that can be applied to farming and related activities.
Fisheries and beekeeping take focus on final day
The October 4 programme will focus on additional areas of agriculture and allied activities.
The morning session will examine the role of farmers in watershed management, led by Praveen, Senior Assistant Director, Department of Horticulture.

The festival is being organised in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotary International.
Invitation to farmers and the public
The organisers have invited farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, students, youth, self-help groups, farming organisations and members of the public to participate in the three-day festival.
Apart from exhibitions and product stalls, visitors will have access to demonstrations, expert interactions and training programmes covering agriculture and allied sectors.
The organisers expect the event to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange while helping farmers understand new technologies, farming practices and market opportunities.
Focus on agriculture as an enterprise
With agriculture increasingly linked to technology, processing, direct marketing and entrepreneurship, Krishi Habba 2026 will bring these areas together under one event.
The organisers’ focus on youth entrepreneurship, value-added products, modern irrigation, organic farming and allied sectors such as fisheries and beekeeping is intended to broaden the scope of the festival beyond conventional farming.
For farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs, the direct interaction with experts, technology providers and potential consumers could also provide an opportunity to explore new approaches to production and marketing.
The three-day programme at Kulshekar will therefore combine exhibitions, markets, technical sessions and cultural participation around agriculture and related enterprises.
