Mangaluru: A man sustained injuries on Monday after four individuals on a single bike brandished knives at him when he attempted to record a video of their actions. The injured, Akhilesh, reportedly followed the group after noticing them carrying knives in public.
Incident unfolds as man tries to record the suspects
According to Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H, Akhilesh, a local resident, spotted the four men holding knives and decided to film them on his phone. Upon realising that he was recording their actions, one of the men attacked Akhilesh with a knife, causing injuries.
While three of the suspects managed to flee the scene, local residents intervened and captured one of the men, handing him over to the police.
Police identify all suspects, investigation ongoing
The commissioner stated that all four suspects involved in the incident have been identified and assured that authorities are confident of apprehending the remaining individuals soon.
CCTV footage shows the group leaving a nearby bar shortly before the attack. Police are investigating whether the suspects were under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants at the time of the incident.
Authorities have registered a case and are examining the sequence of events, including witness statements and video evidence, to ensure swift action against the culprits.
