Mangaluru: The Department of Posts, Mangaluru Division, organized the Sundays on Cycle Campaign under the Fit India Mission, promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy lifestyle choice.

The initiative was inaugurated by S Rajendra Kumar, Chief Postmaster General (CPMG), Karnataka Circle, at the Mangaluru Head Post Office. The campaign not only aimed to encourage fitness but also highlighted the invaluable role of postmen in connecting the nation.

Over 100 postal staff members actively participated, with CPMG Rajendra Kumar himself leading the rally. He was joined by M Sudhakara Mallya, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Mangaluru Division, Dinesha P, Deputy Superintendent of Posts, Srinath NB, Senior Postmaster, and CP Harish, Assistant Superintendent of Mangaluru East Sub-Division.

Starting at 8 AM from the Mangaluru Head Post Office in Pandeshwar, the rally covered a 3 km route, passing through AB Shetty Circle, the City Police Commissioner’s Office, State Bank, Town Hall, Clock Tower, University College, RTO, and Corporation Bank Circle before concluding at the Head Post Office by 9 AM.

Speaking at the event, Rajendra Kumar emphasized the department’s commitment to promoting fitness and environmental sustainability. He encouraged cycling as a means to reduce dependency on motor vehicles, conserve fuel, and enhance overall well-being.
