A community alert has been issued in Mangaluru after reports surfaced about a group posing as sadhus allegedly targeting residents in the Kodikal area.
According to local reports, a jeweller was allegedly hypnotised and robbed by individuals disguised as sadhus on February 16 near Kodikal.
Suspicious movement reported again
Residents recently noticed a similar group loitering in the same locality, which raised concerns among locals. When questioned by residents, the individuals reportedly left the area quickly, increasing suspicion.
The incidents have been reported to the police, and residents have been urged to remain cautious.
Citizens advised to remain vigilant
People in Mangaluru have been advised not to hand over money, gold, or valuables to unknown individuals claiming to perform rituals, blessings, or spiritual services.
Residents are also being warned to stay cautious if strangers approach them claiming supernatural powers or requesting donations.
Police helplines shared
Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activity immediately through emergency helplines 112 or 100.
