Mangaluru: The sixth edition of Mangaluru Technovanza 2026, aimed at showcasing the region’s growing technology and innovation ecosystem, will be held at the Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre on September 23.
The day-long conference is being organised by the Department of Electronics, IT and BT and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) under the Beyond Bengaluru initiative. The programme is aimed at strengthening Mangaluru’s position as an emerging technology and innovation hub and promoting the city as the “Silicon Beach of India.”
IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge is hosting the event.
Over 600 delegates expected
According to the organisers, Technovanza 2026 is expected to bring together more than 600 delegates, including representatives from startups, technology companies, investors, global capability centres and other stakeholders.
The event is expected to feature 150 startups, 40 global speakers, 50 global capability centres (GCCs) and more than 20 investors.
The participation of global speakers, investors and GCC representatives is expected to provide a platform for discussions on the opportunities and challenges shaping Mangaluru’s technology ecosystem.
Focus on emerging technologies and investment
Discussions at the conference will cover a range of areas linked to the technology and digital economy.
Key themes will include emerging technologies, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, investments, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), data centres and talent development.
The conference will also provide an opportunity for startups and technology companies to showcase their work and connect with potential investors and industry partners.
The organisers said the event would highlight the developments taking place within Mangaluru’s technology ecosystem and provide visibility to emerging businesses and innovation-led enterprises from the region.
Spotlight on startups and new investments
Technovanza 2026 will also showcase new investments, product and intellectual property launches, emerging startups, talent expansion and industry collaborations.
These initiatives are expected to demonstrate the increasing participation of Mangaluru in Karnataka’s broader digital economy and technology landscape.
The presence of investors and global capability centres could also help create opportunities for local startups and technology professionals by facilitating industry connections and potential collaborations.
Mangaluru’s Silicon Beach ambitions
The event is being organised as part of Karnataka’s Beyond Bengaluru vision, which seeks to expand the State’s technology and innovation ecosystem beyond Bengaluru by encouraging growth in other cities.
Mangaluru has increasingly been positioned as one of the key emerging destinations under this initiative, with its educational institutions, skilled talent pool, connectivity and established business ecosystem offering a foundation for technology-sector growth.
Technovanza is intended to bring together various stakeholders to discuss how the coastal city can strengthen its position as a technology, knowledge and innovation hub.
The conference will also provide a platform to examine the requirements for further growth, including talent development, investment, digital infrastructure and collaboration between startups, established companies and educational institutions.
With more than 600 delegates and participation from startups, GCCs, investors and technology leaders, the sixth edition of Mangaluru Technovanza is expected to place the city’s technology ecosystem in the spotlight and further the vision of developing Mangaluru as the Silicon Beach of India.
