Mangaluru: The registration deadline for the Manipal Arogya Card 2026 is fast approaching, with August 31, 2026, set as the final date for enrolment. Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Mangaluru Campus, has urged the public to make use of the healthcare benefit programme, which has been providing discounted medical services to families across Karnataka and Kerala for more than two decades.
Dr Dilip G Naik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mangaluru Campus, announced the deadline while addressing the media on August 27. He said the Manipal Health Card has served communities for the past 26 years by making quality healthcare more affordable and accessible.
Programme has benefited lakhs of families
According to MAHE, the Manipal Health Card programme was launched in 2000 under the guidance of Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chancellor of MAHE, Manipal. The initiative was developed with the vision of making quality healthcare accessible to different sections of society, particularly communities in rural areas.
The programme has grown considerably since its launch. While around 3,200 families enrolled during its inaugural year, approximately 2 lakh families registered during the last financial year. Around 6.5 lakh members are currently benefiting from the programme across Karnataka and Kerala.
Dr Naik said the initiative reflects the vision of Manipal founder Dr T M A Pai to make quality healthcare available to people across different sections of society.
The programme has continued to expand its reach by providing members access to healthcare services at several Manipal hospitals and dental institutions.
One-year membership for individuals and families
Dr Unnikrishnan B, Dean, KMC Mangaluru, explained that the Manipal Arogya Card is a one-year membership programme designed to provide affordable healthcare services to individuals and families.
The programme is offered under the tagline, “For a Complete Family, Great Value, Trusted Service”, and provides members with concessions on a range of medical services.
Cardholders can avail themselves of benefits at KMC Hospital Attavar, KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle), Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr TMA Pai Hospital Udupi and Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala.
Members can also access benefits at Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, and Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru.
Membership starts at ₹350
Dr Chakrapani M, Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospital Attavar, explained the different membership categories and their costs.
An individual membership costs ₹350. A family membership costs ₹700 and includes the member, spouse and any number of unmarried children below 25 years of age.
The Family Plus membership is priced at ₹900. It covers the individual, spouse, any number of unmarried children below 25 years and up to four parents, including parents-in-law.
The membership structure is designed to allow families to choose a plan according to their requirements while keeping the annual cost relatively affordable.
Benefits become effective from the 15th of the month following enrolment and remain valid until August 15, 2027.
Concessions available on healthcare services
The Manipal Arogya Card provides discounts across several healthcare services.
According to Dr Deepak Madi, Deputy Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospital Attavar, cardholders can avail themselves of:
- Up to 50% discount on consultation
- Up to 20% discount on laboratory investigations
- Up to 20% discount on radiology investigations, including CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray
- Up to 10% discount on outpatient medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy
- Up to 25% concession on inpatient bills, excluding consumables and packages, across various ward categories
The absence of an upper age limit for enrolment also makes the programme relevant for senior citizens. Healthcare expenses can increase with age, and the concessions available through the programme can provide additional support to elderly members and their families.
The benefits, however, are subject to the applicable terms and conditions of the programme and the respective healthcare services.
Registration deadline is August 31
With the enrolment deadline set for August 31, members of the public who wish to obtain the Manipal Arogya Card 2026 have been encouraged to complete their registration before the closing date.
Mr Raviraj, Group Manager, Operations, said the programme has been providing healthcare services at discounted rates to millions of beneficiaries for more than 25 years. He also acknowledged the role of the media in creating awareness about the programme and reaching a wider section of the public.
The Manipal Health Card can be obtained at KMC Hospital Attavar, Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, and through authorised agents across Dakshina Kannada district and Northern Kerala.
