A serious chain collision occurred at Addahole near Gundya on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway, leaving over 20 individuals hurt. The incident involved a private bus, a KSRTC bus, and a car.

According to reports, the private bus driver lost control, slamming into the KSRTC bus ahead. The car trailing the KSRTC bus also crashed into it due to the sudden impact. Among the injured were college students from Bengaluru, traveling back after their holidays in Kundapur.

Emergency responders swiftly transported the victims to nearby medical facilities in Kadaba and Nellyadi. Those requiring specialized care were moved to a hospital in Puttur.

Uppinangady police quickly arrived at the accident site, efficiently managing traffic congestion caused by the mishap and ensuring the area was secured. Efforts are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for cautious driving on highways prone to high-speed travel and unpredictable conditions.
