Officials noted that the event was aimed at increasing awareness about the significant role played by seafarers in ensuring the smooth functioning of international logistics and supply chains. The maritime sector remains a backbone of global commerce, with seafarers enabling the uninterrupted movement of goods across continents.

The ceremony also served as a reminder of the challenges faced by maritime personnel, including long periods at sea, demanding working conditions, and the need for constant vigilance to ensure safe navigation and cargo handling.

The celebrations at NMPA reflect a broader effort to promote awareness about India’s maritime capabilities and the critical role played by ports like Mangaluru in supporting trade and energy logistics. With increasing cargo movement and strategic importance, the port continues to contribute significantly to the country’s economic framework.
