Mangaluru: Mescom is fully geared up with precautionary measures to face possible challenges during the rainy season. Managing Director D Padmavathi announced that a special task force comprising 800 staff members and 53 vehicles has been formed for emergency response in the four districts under Mescom’s jurisdiction.

In case of any danger, mishaps, or power disruptions, people can dial 1912 for assistance. “All chief engineers, superintendent engineers, and executive engineers of Mescom have been directed to rectify faults in electricity lines promptly. Mescom has completed the work of cutting trees and branches that were disrupting electricity supply and posing a danger. Additionally, we have ensured a sufficient stock of electric poles, wires, transformers, and other equipment for immediate emergency work,” Padmavathi stated.

Separate teams with vehicles will be deployed in various areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru districts. Damaged electric poles, wires, and transformers from pre-monsoon rains have already been restored, she added.
