Mangaluru: Milagres College celebrated its Annual Day on April 22 with enthusiasm and insightful reflections at the Milagres Jubilee Hall. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, the designated director of Father Muller Hospital and Medical College, graced the occasion as chief guest. In his address, he emphasized that “success in student life is rooted in perseverance, determination, and the lessons learned from setbacks.” He stressed that recognition often follows after enduring criticism and doubt.
Noted Kannada voice artist, actor, and writer Badekkila Pradeep, also addressed the audience, encouraging students to embrace culture and humanity. “When we grow with values rooted in kindness, respect will naturally find us,” he said, inspiring the young crowd.
The event also saw the presence of Sylvester Mascarenhas, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council, Jacintha Fernandes, council secretary, Vijayalakshmi, PTA president, and faculty members including Alvin Rosario and Gerald Pinto. Student representatives Juhi Joyce and Stephen Elloy added youthful energy to the celebration.
Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, presided over the programme, while Dr Michael L Santhumayor, the college principal, warmly welcomed all attendees.
The formal ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Lecturer Chaitra, and was gracefully compered by Joslin Valdar, a II BCom student.
