Mangaluru – The state government has named Mithun H.N. as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) for the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate.

The latest announcement, issued through an official government directive on Thursday, overrides an earlier appointment made just two days ago. Initially, Jitendra Kumar Dayamay, the NNF Karkala Superintendent of Police, had been chosen for the DCP post.

However, the revised order confirms Mithun H.N. will now take charge. Prior to this new role, Mithun was serving as the Superintendent of Police with the Udupi Coastal Security Police, where he oversaw coastal vigilance and maritime security operations.

The change reflects the state’s strategic decisions in reshuffling key positions within the police force, likely to strengthen law enforcement and public safety mechanisms in Mangaluru.

The official notification validating Mithun’s appointment has now been released, making his role as DCP Law and Order effective immediately.

This transition marks a significant development in the city’s police leadership, as Mangaluru continues to manage complex law and order challenges in a growing urban landscape.
