Mangaluru: The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences (YSAHS) observed Antimicrobial Awareness Week and International Pathology Day with a significant scientific session, aimed at highlighting the role of antimicrobial stewardship and pathology in advancing healthcare.
Inauguration and dignitaries
The event was inaugurated by Dr. B.H. Shreepathi Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya Deemed to be University, with Dr. Sunita Saldanha, Dean of Yenepoya Allied and Healthcare Professions, as the Guest of Honour.
Renowned speakers, Dr. Ethel Suman, Associate Professor of Microbiology at KMC Mangalore, and Dr. Shivakumar, Principal of Father Muller Allied and Healthcare College, delivered expert talks. They addressed pressing issues such as antimicrobial resistance and the critical contributions of pathology in accurate diagnostics and patient care.
