Mangaluru: Shri Mohammed Ali Shihab A, IAS (Nagaland Cadre, 2011), has assumed charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), strengthening the company’s vigilance and governance framework.

Shri Mohammed Ali Shihab took charge on August 12, 2026, following approval from the Competent Authority, Government of India, for his appointment as CVO of MRPL under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

MRPL is a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) and a subsidiary of ONGC under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The appointment brings an experienced civil servant to a key position responsible for strengthening vigilance mechanisms within the organisation.

Experienced IAS officer joins MRPL

Shri Mohammed Ali Shihab A is an officer of the 2011 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) belonging to the Nagaland cadre. Over the course of his administrative career, he has gained extensive experience in public governance and administration.

His professional experience includes serving in important leadership positions in the State Secretariat and District Administration, along with responsibilities across several flagship development sectors of the Government of Nagaland.

His career has been marked by administrative responsibilities involving governance and development initiatives. The experience gained through these assignments is expected to contribute to his new role at MRPL, particularly in strengthening institutional vigilance and promoting transparent and accountable practices.
