Kadaba: A 42-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a black SUV allegedly rammed into his motorcycle from behind on the Kadaba–Uppinangady Main Road at Achari Kotya in Alankaru village on the night of September 25.
The SUV driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping after the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh Nadthila, 42, a resident of Alankaru in Kadaba.
SUV allegedly rams motorcycle from behind
According to the complaint, Lokesh was travelling towards Achari Kotya from Alankaru town on his motorcycle bearing registration number KA-21-Y-5006.
When he reached Achari Kotya, a black-coloured SUV bearing registration number KA-21-MB-0233 allegedly approached from behind at high speed and collided with his motorcycle.
The impact caused Lokesh and his motorcycle to fall onto the road. He sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The SUV driver allegedly did not stop after the collision and fled the spot in the vehicle.
Motorcyclist dies after accident
Following the accident, Lokesh was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
However, after examining him, doctors reportedly informed those who had brought him that he had already died.
The incident has been registered as a hit-and-run case, with police initiating an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and identify the person who was allegedly driving the SUV.
Kadaba police register case
Kadaba police have registered a case under Crime No. 112/2026.
The case has been booked under Sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 134(a) and 134(b) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
The provisions cited in the case relate to rash or negligent conduct and the duties of a driver following an accident, among other matters.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident and the alleged failure of the SUV driver to stop and assist the injured motorcyclist.
The registration number of the SUV has been identified as KA-21-MB-0233, and further investigation is under way.
