The Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (Muda) is preparing a plan to develop a coastal road from Talapady to Mulki, announced Muda Chairman Sadashiva Ullal. This proposed road, stretching from the Karnataka border in Talapady to Mulki, aims to benefit the fishing sector and the local community by providing easy access. Ullal mentioned that a proposal will be sent to the government once the survey for the 45km coastal road is completed. A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared following government approval.
The project will be discussed at the upcoming Muda meeting on July 31.
In addition to the coastal road, Muda is initiating plans to develop 29 lakes in a phased manner. The survey for the development of Someshwara Lake has been completed, and work will commence soon, with plans to enhance the lake’s attractiveness by installing a fountain. Assembly Speaker UT Khader has also suggested the development of a park in front of Rani Abbakka Circle in Ullal, a proposal that will be discussed in the Muda meeting.
Ullal highlighted his efforts since taking charge as Muda Chairman, including clearing nearly 600 pending files and taking initiatives to develop residential layouts in Konaje, Kunjathbail, and Cheloor.
These projects reflect Muda’s commitment to improving infrastructure and community amenities in the region.
